When I arrived at Glacier Peak High School Wednesday morning to watch part of the Grizzlies’ first football practice of the season, I noticed that Glacier Peak’s cross country runners were at the school for a voluntary workout.
Just like last year, Glacier Peak’s girls cross country team should be among the best in the state and even the best in the country. Led by 2009 Class 3A individual state XC champion Amy-Eloise Neale, the Glacier Peak girls are No. 19 in America in Marc Bloom’s 2010 Pre-Season Super 25 rankings.
In addition, Glacier Peak — coached by Dan Parker — is ranked No. 2 in the Northwest region. Jesuit (Oregon) is No. 1.
Practice for all fall sports other than football (which began Wednesday) starts Monday.
