After waiting and wondering for what seemed like eternity, I am finally a dad.
My wife (for whom the wait seemed MUCH longer) gave birth to our first child, a girl, at 2:09 a.m. this morning in Everett. We named our daughter Fiona.
I’m going to take a few weeks off now and start trying to figure out how to be a dad. Sure, I read about parenting and talked to lots of Outstanding Dads in an attempt to get a head start. But now it’s all real! Here we go.
I will be back writing for The Herald in a few weeks. Until then, enjoy the spring high school sports season … and wish me luck.
