Everett center Zach Hamill was given an early Christmas vacation today when he was suspended for two games by the league, meaning he won’t participate in either of Everett’s final two games before the Christmas Break. Hamill received the suspension for a high hit on Tri-City defenseman Tyler Schmidt in Wednesday’ s 3-1 that knocked Schmidt out of the game, a play on which no penalty was called. That means the Tips will have to try and overcome the Portland Winter Hawks without their top playmaker.

UPDATE 5:50 p.m.
Apparently Hamill isn’t the only key player Everett will be without. Word is Kyle Beach took some damage in his end-of-game fight with Tri-City’s Mitch McColm last night and won’t play tonight or tomorrow. It’ll be interesting to see where Everett’s scoring will come from with both Hamill and Beach out, if it comes at all.
