TACOMA — The Stanwood girls basketball lost to West Seattle 64-58 on Saturday in a 3A Hardwood Classic consolation game at the Tacoma Dome, ending its tournament run with a fifth-place trophy.
The Spartans led by as many as eight points in the second quarter and led 31-30 at halftime, but the Wildcats outscored Stanwood 19-13 in the third quarter to open up a 49-43 lead.
Kaitlin Larson led the Spartans with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Jillian Heichel recorded 16 points and Madison Chisman tallied 14 points.
Jasmine Gayles scored 33 points for West Seattle, which shot 51 percent from the field.

Royal 57, King’s 46
YAKIMA — King’s finished sixth at the 1A Hardwood Classic after losing to Royal in a consolation contest.
King’s trailed 16-6 after the first quarter and 29-14 at halftime.
