Hockey Canada on Tuesday announced the 197 players who earned invitations to respective summer training camps as the organization looks to fill its rosters for the National Junior Team, U-18 and U-17 championships.
Everett Silvertips goaltender Carter Hart, who backstopped Team Canada to a silver medal at last year’s WJC, is one of four goaltenders invited to camp. The other netminders are Windsor’s Michael DiPietro, Peterborough’s Dylan Wells and Lethbridge’s Stuart Skinner.
Silvertips forward prospect Ethan Browne was invited to the U-17 camp. Browne was Everett’s first-round pick (14th overall) in the 2016 bantam draft. He made his WHL debut last season at Tri-City and projects to play with the Tips this coming season as a 16-year-old.
Longtime Everett assistant coach Mitch Love will be a coach at the U-18 camp. A former Tips captain, Love has coached with Hockey Canada in international events the past two seasons.
