Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck will be able to play with what Pete Carroll described as “little cracks in two different bones in his wrist.” The injury won’t require surgery, but will take four to six weeks to heal, meaning, as Carroll put it, “He’s going to be uncomfortable for a while.”
Carroll said Hasselbeck will continue to wear a splint on his wrist, and that they will take measures this week to limit the chances of him aggravating the injury.
In other injury news, LT Russell Okung, who has missed the past three games with an ankle injury, has been cleared to return to practice Wednesday. That doesn’t guarantee he will play Sunday in New Orleans, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. WR Golden Tate (ankle) and DT Colin Cole (ankle) are both unlikely to return this week, though Carroll said Tate is further along in his recovery.
Carroll said no other significant injuries came out of Sunday’s game.
As for the win in Arizona, Seattle’s first there since 2005, Carroll said he was pleased with the way his team bounced back after two blowout losses:
“I’m glad we were able to come back after two weeks of dismal performances.”
And one other bit of news, DE Raheem Brock was arrested early Saturday Morning for DUI. He still made the trip to Arizona and played, and on Monday, Pete Carroll said he didn’t hear about the arrest until after Sunday’s game. So that means Brock got on the team plane Saturday, went through the day’s activities, played in the game then decided to tell his boss about the arrest. Interesting.
