Hawks tie for third

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE – Junior Lindsey Woodhouse struck out 10 batters and drove in the winning run for the Mountlake Terrace softball team in a 1-0 victory over Edmonds-Woodway Thursday in a Western Conference South game.

The Hawks forced a two-way tie for second place with Edmonds-Woodway in the division, both with 5-2 league records.

“This was a huge game for us,” Mountlake Terrace coach Kim Stewart said. “We have a long way to go, but we’re on the right track.”

Woodhouse gave up just one hit to improve her pitching record to 6-2.

“She was really on her game today,” Stewart said. “I think this was her best performance ever. She didn’t let a ball get out the infield and her pitches were all there.”

With one out, Mountlake Terrace strung together three consecutive first-inning singles. Woodhouse collected the third single, knocking in Jaque Huden from second base and giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Huden led Mountlake Terrace with two singles.

“She (Woodhouse) did it all today,” Stewart said.
