High school football conference championships are on the line tonight, with great matchups in Wesco 4A, Wesco 3A and the Cascade Conference.
Wesco 3A: Marysville Pilchuck vs. Glacier Peak
The undefeated Tomahawks may be without star running back Austin Joyner, who is nursing a sore ankle. If Joyner can’t go, Marysville Pilchuck has depth behind Joyner. Junior Killian Page ran for 167 yards in the team’s latest game. M-P will face a run-heavy Grizzlies attack, spearheaded by Branson Corwin, who gives Glacier Peak a dual-threat at quarterback. Cascade Conference: King’s vs. Lakewood
The two teams meet for the championship for the second straight year, despite predictions that both would have rocky rebuilding years. Sophomore Koa Wilkins leads the King’s attack, with 1,100 yards passing and 12 touchdowns on the season. For Lakewood, it’s Blake Watts who leads the way with 947 yards passing and 13 touchdowns, along with 663 rushing yards. Read more in our preview.
Wesco 4A: Lake Stevens vs. Edmonds-Woodway
The Vikings and Warriors meet for the title for the third straight year. The past two championship games have been decided by a total of eight points. Lake Stevens overcame a 1-2 start to make it to this year’s title game and now faces a daunting task, taking on undefeated Edmonds-Woodway. Read more in our preview.
