Highland fades in semifinal

PORT ANGELES — After an overtime victory against North Sound Christian Friday night, Highland Christian traveled to Port Angeles to face Neah Bay Saturday afternoon.

The quick turnaround was tiring.

After starting off hot, Highland Christian led Neah Bay 17-8 after the first quarter. But then fatigue began to set in, the lead dwindled and Neah Bay emerged victorious 66-53.

“We came out a little flat (in the third quarter),” Highland Christian assistant coach Mark Crawford said. “We couldn’t penetrate. We couldn’t put the ball in the basket.”

Highland Christian plays a loser-out, consolation game Friday against Clallam Bay at Mountlake Terrace High School.
