SEATTLE — Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren is so happy that his team broke a six-game losing streak Sunday he’s giving his players an extra off.
Seattle beat St. Louis 23-20 on Sunday.
The coach told KIRO Radio on Monday morning that he’s giving players Monday and Tuesday off, except for those who need to be in the training room, a group that includes quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. Holmgren said Hasselbeck is meeting with doctors who will decide whether the bulging disk in his back will permit him to play in Sunday’s home finale against the New York Jets.
It will be Holmgren’s last home game and a meeting with his former star quarterback at Green Bay, Brett Favre.
