So Lake Stevens renovated their stadium over the summer and guess what? The light is AWESOME. They use to have a pretty dark field with the occasional hot spot that could make for some nice frames, but over all, dark, dark, dark. Now I would classify it as the brightest stadium in the county. It doesn’t even change color from one frame to the next like many stadiums. Attention sports and photo editors: I will now only shoot assignments at Lake Stevens. Sorry dozens of other Sno Co. teams, but boost your light and I’m there!
I’m still waiting for the blog to get reformatted so I can show you bigger photos, but for now, I guess you’ll still have to look at tiny ones at the top right. Hopefully you’ll be able to see the light differences from previous years to this. If you can’t see it too well, just check out the exposure. This year I’m shooting at 1/640th, in past years; I was only able to get 1/320th. For those of you not so good in math, that is twice as fast.
Here are some before and after photos.
