Just a few of the numerous prep sports events to watch this week during an action-packed postseason slate:
Boys soccer: 3A state opening round, Kamiakin at Marysville Pilchuck, 4 p.m. Tuesday. Back-to-back Wesco 3A/2A champion Marysville Pilchuck returns to state for the first time since 2014.
Softball: 3A Northwest District Tournament, Tuesday and Thursday at Phil Johnson Ballfields in Everett. Meadowdale enters as the top seed in a wide-open district tournament. The top four finishers earn state berths.
Boys soccer: 4A state opening round, Jackson vs. Hazen, 7 p.m. Tuesday at Everett Memorial Stadium. Coming off a Wesco 4A title and a bi-district crown, Jackson enters state having outscored opponents 60-8.
Softball: 4A Wes-King Bi-District Tournament, Wednesday and Friday at Phil Johnson Ballfields. Three of the tournament’s four semifinalists are from Wesco 4A: Lake Stevens, Glacier Peak and Jackson. The top five finishers earn state berths.
Boys soccer: 3A state opening round, Meadowdale vs. Interlake, 7 p.m. Wednesday at Edmonds Stadium. Coming off a district title, Meadowdale makes its first state appearance since 2005.
Track and field: 4A and 3A Northwest District finals, 3 p.m. Friday at Shoreline Stadium. The area’s top 4A and 3A track and field athletes compete for spots in next weekend’s state meet.
Baseball: 3A state regional, Saturday at Sherman Anderson Field (Mount Vernon). Arlington faces O’Dea at 10 a.m., followed by Everett against Peninsula at 1 p.m. The winners square off at 4 p.m. for a spot in the state semifinals. Everett, coming off a district title, is making its first state appearance since 1995.
