Hudson homers, pitches perfect game for Seagulls

MILL CREEK – Everett’s Amy Hudson almost single-handedly beat Jackson 2-0 Tuesday.

Hudson pitched a perfect game, allowing no hits, walks or runs, then hit a solo home run in the third inning to seal the Western Conference South victory.

“Obviously, I’m really proud of Amy,” Everett coach Kyle Peacocke said. “But it was a team effort. We played with a lot of energy and intensity. The defense did an outstanding job as well.”

Hudson, who until this year had pitched only one game in relief, usually plays third base.

“She’s such a good defensive third baseman that you lose quite a bit when she’s not there,” Peacocke said.

Jennifer Luatua drove in Victoria Coury with Everett’s other run.
