ANAHEIM, Calif. — Los Angeles Angels center fielder Torii Hunter left Saturday’s game against the Seattle with a bruised left hand after getting hit by a pitch from Felix Hernandez.
Hunter was hit by a 95 mph fastball in the first inning. He was checked out by trainer Ned Bergert and went to first base, but was replaced in the field by Reggie Willits for the top of the second inning.
Hunter was taken to a hospital for precautionary X-rays. The three-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove winner is batting .272 with seven homers and 29 RBIs in 47 games.
