Hurdlers help Shorecrest top Lynnwood

SHORELINE — Shorecrest combined victories in the hurdles, throws and distance races to defeat Lynnwood 86-59 Thursday in a Western Conference South Division dual meet at Shoreline Stadium.

Ikenna Acholonu (110-meter hurdles) and Steven Nguyen (300) supplied the hurdles wins. Cole Reynolds won the javelin to lead a sweep of the three throwing events. Luke Dickinson (1,600) and Tyler Stevermer (3,200) pulled out the distances races for the Scots.

Vince Kinney won the 400-meter dash in 52.53 seconds and the high jump at 6 feet, 1 inch to lead Lynnwood, which won both relays.

Meadowdale 73, Kamiak 71: Kevin Myhre won the 110-meter hurdles and 300 hurdles and teammate Jake Williky captured the 100 and the long jump to lead Meadowdale to a narrow Wesco South victory. Myhre and Williky also ran legs on the Mavericks’ victorious 400 relay.

Everett 109, Mariner 46: Niko Sievers won the 110-meter hurdles and the 400 dash and Clay Kincaid won the 300 hurdles, the high jump and the triple jump to boost Everett to its Wesco South meet victory.

Edmonds-Woodway 81, Mountlake Terrace 59: Paul Zavaglia and Glenn Gallagher each won two individual events and both ran on the 1,600-meter relay team for Edmonds-Woodway in the Wesco South meet. Steven Coale won the triple and high jumps for Mountlake Terrace.

Snohomish 73, Monroe 62, Lake Stevens 46: Nick Mundell won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles to lead Snohomish to victory in the Wesco North meet. Bryan Lucke won the triple jump, pole vault and high jump to help Monroe finish second.
