It’s all over, and that was a pretty thorough 42-12 beating the Huskies just put on Syracuse.
Good news all around for the Dawgs. Jake Locker was impressive in his debut, Louis Rankin had a monster game, and the defense shut down the run and didn’t get beat on any huge pass plays.
Washington outgained Syracuse 444 yards to 207, and outgained the Orange by a 302 to 8 margin on the ground.
After the game, Tyrone Willingham was not as upbeat as you might expect a coach in his situation to be. He called Locker’s performance “so-so.” and said that both Locker and Rankin “could do better.”
Interesting, but I guess Willingham has never been one to throw gushing praise around.
