SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies have apparently filled one of their two football coaching vacancies, though it’s unclear for now which one.
Brian White, the offensive coordinator at Syracuse before being fired at the end of last season, was at the Washington basketball game Thursday night with new defensive coordinator Ed Donatell and receivers coach Charlie Baggett. A source confirmed that he has been hired, but it was unknown which open job White will fill.
The Huskies are looking to replace running backs coach Trent Miles, who left to become the head coach at his alma mater, Indiana State, and tight ends/special teams coach Bob Simmons, who was fired in December.
White has experience working with both positions during his career. He spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach at Syracuse, and before that was the offensive coordinator and running backs coach at Wisconsin.
