SEATTLE — For just the second time, Washington and Louisiana State will meet on the football field.
The schools announced Friday they will play a home-and-home series, with the Tigers visiting the Huskies to start the 2009 football season. The game is scheduled for Sept. 5, 2009.
Washington will visit Tiger Stadium in 2012. The only other time the teams played was 1983 when LSU beat Washington 40-14 in Baton Rouge.
The two schools have a strong connection, as Washington president Mark Emmert was formerly chancellor at LSU.
Washington’s non-league schedule in 2009 now includes the Tigers, Idaho and Notre Dame.
