SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies began their volleyball season with a straight-set victory over Mercer. The eighth-ranked Huskies (1-0) defeated the Bears 25-13, 25-10, 25-15 on the first day of The Invitational.
Monroe High School alum Kylin Munoz started her first NCAA match after sitting out her freshman season and finished with six kills.
Senior Kindra Carlson led the way with 14 kills on 26 attempts with just one error (.500), and fellow senior Becky Perry was also in double-figures with 11 kills. Junior Bianca Rowland added seven kills
Washington plays Eastern Washington at 7 p.m. tonight.
