The Mariners can put their lineup together now. Ichiro Suzuki and Kenji Johjima arrived within the past half-hour after becoming world champions of the world.
Until we see what kind of leadership Ichiro will provide to the clubhouse, or if he actually will bunt, this was my first observation: The guy actually was wearing decent clothes. Wearing a dark pullover and jeans, Ichiro unpacked equipment at his locker, said hello to old teammates and was introduced to new teammates.
No lineup yet for this afternoon’s game against the Royals, although you can figure Ichiro and Johjima will be in it. Interesting to see if Ken Griffey Jr. gets his way and bats leadoff, like he boasted last week (and if he does, will he bunt?).
