The last four weeks have been a blur — a fun and tiring whirlwind.
I’ve been off from my job at The Herald, spending lots of time with my beautiful baby daughter Fiona and my amazing wife Kristen, who gave birth to Fiona on March 16. Since then, we have been enjoying the ups and downs of being first-time parents. I think I’m getting the hang of it — especially changing diapers — but every day (sometimes every minute) brings unexpected challenges.
I’m so grateful I was able to take time off and soak up this special part of little Fiona’s life. Starting today, I’m back at work. I have to admit, I feel pretty distracted. But I’m also excited to jump into the spring high school sports season and catch up on what our local teams have been doing.
