It doesn’t appear the Silvertips will be receiving much reinforcement to its lineup for Wednesday’s game at Tri-City.
Captain Landon Ferraro, who sat out Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat against Portland because of a groin injury, did not practice Tuesday and has been ruled out for Wednesday. Ferraro just returned from hernia surgery, playing in four games before being sidelined with his latest ailment.
Goaltender Kent Simpson, who sat out the previous four games because of an ankle injury, also didn’t participate in practice and won’t play Wednesday. Simpson was, however, on skates following practice — though he wasn’t in his gear — so he’s at least making progress. Call-up Andy Desautels remains with the team to serve as Luke Siemens’ back-up.
Defenseman Chad Suer, who also missed Saturday’s game because of a gash in his leg, dressed for practice and did some light skating, but didn’t participate in drills. However, Suer has not been ruled out for Wednesday.
