A couple things today:
First, an update on defenseman Mike Alexander. Alexander suffered a shoulder injury in Wednesday’s 5-1 loss at Kelowna. The severity of the injury wasn’t yet known, but he’s definitely out for tomorrow’s game against Vancouver and next week’s games. And the way he had his arm tied up in a sling it looks as though this one may keep him out for a while.
Second, the wild trip to and from Kelowna. As most of you probably already know the Tips had issues both getting to and returning from Kelowna. The total travel time was more than 20 hours (double what it would normally be), included four different buses and featured many the misadventure. Full credit to equipment manager James Stucky for his detailed blow-by-blow account of the entire trip. Check out my story in tomorrow’s paper for all the details (sorry to tease you like that, but you all know the basics already).
Oh, almost forgot, Dan gendur was named the WHL Player of the Month today. Gendur had 10 goals and 16 assists in 14 games during January. Gendur is also the current WHL Player of the Week.
