A representative from the UW athletic department said he spoke to Isaiah Stanback this morning and that he is doing well and resting comfortably at home. Stanback has been moved by the well-wishes he’s received on various web sites. It will be interesting to see if Stanback feels healthy enough later in the season to travel to Washington State or Oregon with the team. Tyrone Willingham said that would be a possibility earlier this week.
No other news from the UW yet. The coaches seem to have their families here on campus today, and Don James is around as well, though none of the media seems to be sure what’s going on.
Here’s a story http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/10/18/SPG1RLR36P1.DTL from the San Franciso Chronicle (more of a notebook really) that has an interesting piece about Cal quarterback Nate Longshore confirming that he plans on going on a church mission. The question is when. Longshore has really turned himself into quite a prospect, so it will be a tough choice to make, and a tough loss for the Golden Bears.
