Jackson captures Wesco North dual meet crown

MILL CREEK — Jackson might be an unwelcome guest.

The Timberwolves, a Wesco South team, swim in the Wesco North for the purpose of balancing out the divisions because North schools Arlington and Monroe don’t have swimming programs. Unfortunately for the North schools that do, Jackson beat them all.

The Timberwolves completed a sweep of the division, beating Marysville-Pilchuck 120-50 Thursday at the Mill Creek Pool.

Alana Pazevic, Marina Pomar-Enders and Stephanie Ha swam on two winning relays, both of which posted state qualifying times. They were joined on the 200-yard medley relay (one minute, 56.87 seconds) by Vanessa Ramos and on the 400 freestyle relay (3:47.96) by Erin Holladay.

Pazevic also had individual state times in winning the 100 freestyle (53.88) and 100 backstroke (1:01.47). Ha swam a state time of 1:00.78 in winning the 100 butterfly.
