Jackson edges Terrace in OT

EVERETT – The Jackson Timberwolves outlasted the Mountlake Terrace Hawks 1-0 in overtime Tuesday night in a Western Conference South Division clash at Everett Memorial Stadium.

With the victory Jackson remained in a three-way tie atop the South Division standings with Edmonds-Woodway and Everett, improving to 2-0-0 in division and 5-1-3 overall.

Kristi Kingma booted in the game-winner from a Dani Oster back door cross that Kingma trapped and knocked through the upper left corner of the goal 4 minutes into the overtime period.

“This was a defensive battle, both teams played well tonight, I was especially impressed with the way Melissa Horton and Kerstin Torrescano played for Terrace,” Jackson coach Mike Bartley said.

Mountlake Terrace (1-1-0, 4-3-1) had just six shots on goal.

Timberwolves goalkeeper Dee Wood recorded her fifth shutout of the season.

At Everett Memorial Stadium

Shorewood 4, Mariner 0: At Everett, Leah Butterfield earned a shutout for Shorewood in the Wesco South game.

Goals-Shorewood: T. Bartlett 2, Albin, Lim. Assists-Shorewood: X. Bartlett 2, Lim, Amor. Goalkeepers-Mariner: not reported. Shorewood: Butterfield. Records-Mariner 0-2-0 in division, 1-7-0 overall. Shorewood 1-0-1, 2-1-6.

Shorecrest 4, Kamiak 0: At Shoreline, Shorecrest goalie Lisa Dimak earned her fifth shutout in the Wesco South game. Casey Maehl scored in the fifth minute with Katie Kirkness following close behind in the sixth. Sylvia Olsvy assisted on both goals. Jenna Bright and Lindsey Riley-Payne rounded out the scoring for Shorecrest.

At Shoreline Stadium

Goals-Shorecrest: Maehl, Kirkness, Bright, Riley-Payne. Assists-Shorecrest: Olsvy 2, Adams. Goalkeepers-Kamiak: Stupey. Shorecrest: Dimak. Records-Kamiak 0-2-2 in division, 1-5-1 overall. Shorecrest 1-0-1. 4-0-4.

Edmonds-Woodway 1, Meadowdale 0: At Edmonds, Kara Parker scored the only goal of the Wesco South game and Edmonds-Woodway goalkeeper Jordan Holmes recorded her third shutout of the season.

Everett 8, Lynnwood 1: At Edmonds, Everett scored five goals in the first half to take the Wesco South victory.

Lake Stevens 1, Stanwood 0 OT: At Lake Stevens, in the second minute of overtime, the Vikings’ Raelynne Lee put the ball in play with a corner kick that the Stanwood defenders tried to clear, but Anna Kruse found the ball and put it past the keeper to give Lake Stevens the Wesco North victory.

At Lake Stevens H.S.

Snohomish 3, Marysville-Pilchuck 1: At Snohomish, Lacee Ross assisted on one of Jill Trumbull’s two goals to lead Snohomish to the Wesco North victory.

Cascade 2, Oak Harbor 0: At Everett, Andrea Cordova scored a goal and had an assist and goalkeeper Brittany Gegax recorded her seventh shutout of the season to lead Cascade to the Wesco North victory.
