Jackson gets its revenge

MILL CREEK – The Jackson boys tennis team knew it would only be a 20-day wait before they would get another crack at Kamiak.

After losing the opening match of the season to the Knights 4-3, the T-wolves got even with their Wesco South rivals, edging Kamiak 4-3 Monday afternoon for their eighth straight win to open the second-half of league play.

“Brian Park, our No. 3 singles player, missed our first match against Kamiak,” Jackson coach David Hutt said. “His game has really blossomed and his consistency has helped us keep our eight-game win streak going.”

The senior co-captain won a crucial singles match against the Knights’ Matt Patterson 6-4, 6-2.

Two other key matches were the No. 1 doubles matches. Eugene Song and Nick Kang bested the Knights’ David Kagawa and Thomas Byrnes in No. 1 play, 7-6 (7-0), 6-2.

Wednesday, Jackson (8-1) travels to Mountlake Terrace and Kamiak (6-3) hosts Shorecrest.
