EDMONDS – Jon Wahl hit three doubles and Kawika Emsley-Pai recorded his first save to power Jackson past Edmonds-Woodway 10-7 Tuesday in a Wesco South baseball game.

Chris Lynch got the Timberwolves (6-2 in league, 8-2 overall) offense off to an early start with a three-run home run in the top of the first inning.

With Jackson ahead 5-0 in the fourth, Lynch and Jeff Mohrweis singled and then scored when Wahl doubled. Next, Travis Snider hit a double to score Wahl. Snider then scored on Joey Lynn’s single.

“We got a big lead early and then hung on for our lives,” Timberwolves coach Kirk Nicholson said.

The Warriors (6-2, 8-2) battled back, scoring runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, to reduce Jackson’s lead to 10-7.

Edmonds-Woodway had the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the sixth when Nicholson brought in Emsley-Pai to close the game.

Emsley-Pai got the third out in the sixth on a called third strike, and then pitched a 1-2-3 seventh to earn his first save.

Jackson’s Snider was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI and Lynch was 3-for-4. The Warriors’ Tyler Grennan was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Andrew Hutt was 3-for-3.
