I just spoke to Jackson High School football coach Joel Vincent, who told me that Jackson kicker Daniel Sullivan verbally committed this afternoon to the University of Wyoming football program.
Sullivan took an official recruiting visit to Wyoming’s campus this past weekend, Vincent said. Sullivan, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound senior, was a Herald All-Area Football first team selection this past season. He also made the Associated Press Class 4A All-State first team.
“Obviously he’s a great talent,” said Vincent, “and the thing I think that sold him with Wyoming was that he’s going to be the guy for them the second he steps on that campus. He’s going to be kicking field goals in BCS-level competition next year.”
Sullivan also received scholarship offers Portland State University and Samford University. The University of Washington and Boise State University also expressed interest in the kicker.
