Jackson takes over first place in the Wesco South

SHORELINE – The Jackson Timberwolves won a key Western Conference South Division girls soccer game between first place teams Thursday night, 2-1 over Shorecrest.

Jackson 4-0-1 in the division and 8-3-1 overall took over sole possession of first place with the victory.

With the score tied 1-1, Jackson’s freshman forward, Kristi Kingma, scored in the 58th minute off an assist by Dani Oster, giving her team the lead and the eventual win. Oster scored an unassisted goal in the 48th minute to tie the score.

Brianne Robinson scored an unassisted goal in the 35th minute, giving Shorecrest (3-1-1, 7-1-2) a 1-0 halftime lead.

At Shoreline

Goals-Jackson: Oster, Kingma. Shorecrest: Robinson. Goalkeepers-Jackson: Wood. Shorecrest: Dimak. Records-Jackson 4-0-1 in league, 8-3-1 overall. Shorecrest 3-1-1, 7-1-2.

Meadowdale 3, Mariner 0: Ali Schiesser and Brooke Horman combined for the shutout in goal for Meadowdale in the Wesco South game.

At Everett

Goals-Meadowdale: Forslund, Doran, Correa. Goalkeepers-Meadowdale: Schiesser and Horman. Mariner: Quinto. Records-Meadowdale 2-1-2 in league, 6-3-3 overall. Mariner 0-5, 0-11.

Mountlake Terrace 2, Lynnwood 0: Kersten Torrescano scored in the 37th minute off an assist by Marina Calvino and Hayley Henry notched a goal in the 45th minute off an assist by Kelsey Sneed in Mountlake Terrace’s Wesco South win.

At Lynnwood

Goals-MT: Torrescano, Henry. Goalkeepers-MT: Hanson. Lynnwood: Hantke. Records-Mountlake Terrace 2-3 league, 5-6-1 overall. Lynnwood 1-4, 2-10.

Shorewood 2, Edmonds-Woodway 1: Lauren Sego scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute, breaking a 1-1 tie and leading Shorewood to the Wesco South victory. Kelli Hansen scored Edmonds-Woodway’s goal.

At Lynnwood

Goals-Shorewood: Bartlett, Sego. E-W: Hansen. Goalkeepers-Shorewood: Edmunds. E-W: McKeown. Records-Shorewood 4-1 in league, 7-4-1 overall. Edmonds-Woodway 2-1-2, 5-3-4.

Kamiak 5, Everett 0: Erika Wilson and Ashley Hermes each scored two goals to lead Kamiak to the Wesco South victory.

At Everett

Mount Vernon 1, Stanwood 1: Lauren Hansen scored for Stanwood in the Wesco North tie.

Lake Stevens 4, Oak Harbor 0: Alyssa Isaman scored a goal and had an assist, Taylor Cochran recorded two assists and goalkeepers Cassy Osborn and Erial Three Stars combined for the shutout for Lake Stevens in the Wesco North game.

Monroe 2, Cascade 1: Monroe’s Keena Hopkins scored the game-winning goal on a header in the 75th minute of the Wesco North game off a corner kick by Kris Sowers. With the victory, Monroe clinched a district playoff berth.

Marysville-Pilchuck 3, Arlington 0: Hannah Wood, Bri Giercke and Danielle Monson scored for M-P in its Wesco North win.

Cedarcrest 1, Sultan 0 2OT: Ali Williams scored off a corner kick with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime of the Cascade Conference game. Cedarcrest out-shot Sultan 34-1.
