Kamiak earns a repeat trip to state playoffs

MUKILTEO – Kamiak is heading to the 4A boys soccer state tournament for the second straight season.

The Knights captured the automatic state tournament berth for the Wesco South with a 3-0 victory over Jackson Friday night at Kamiak High School.

“It feels pretty good,” Kamiak coach Garfield Scott said. “The players have been working hard at practice and games all season we just have to keep our focus.”

Kamiak with play Wesco North champion Snohomish for the District 1 championship at 7:30 p.m. Thursday May 10th at Shoreline Stadium.

Kamiak’s Kelly Haugen and Zach Harris both had a goal and an assist in the second half to spur the Knights to the victory.

At Kamiak H.S.

Mariner 4, Lynnwood 2: At Lynnwood, Rolando Becceril scored a goal and had an assist for Lynnwood in the Wesco South game.

Meadowdale 4, Mountlake Terrace 1: At Edmonds, Jack Gold and Jordan Correa each scored twice to lead Meadowdale to the Wesco South win.
