SHORELINE – Few teams recover from a confrontation with the Kamiak hit squad.
Actually, none have the entire season.
Led by Krista Colburn (2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI), undefeated Kamiak put on another offensive display en route to topping Shorecrest 7-0 Wednesday in a Western Conference South Division fastpitch softball game.
Three players had multiple hits for Kamiak (15-0 in league, 17-0 overall).
“They have some really good power hitters,” Shorecrest coach Kristie Oglesby said. “Krista Colburn is obviously a threat to anyone she sees.
“They’re a good hitting team, they’re a good team in general. They’re playing well together and it shows.”
Andrea Sherrill was 2-for-2 and Ashley Kroll was 2-for-4 with one RBI for the Knights, who piled up four hits and used two walks to score four times in the second inning.
Winning pitcher Kate Defenbach struck out four and walked none for Kamiak.
Casey Maehl was 2-for-3 for Shorecrest (10-5, 12-5).

Everett 8, Meadowdale 3: Everett’s Alyshia Smith led the Everett offense with 3-for-4 batting, including two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI. Reliever Amy Hudson was 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run scored and a triple, in addition to pitching five shutout innings with five strikeouts. Colleen Shanks was 2-for-3 to lead Meadowdale in the Wesco South game.

Edmonds-Woodway 2, Mountlake Terrace 0: Freshman Breanne White had a hand in both of the Warriors’ runs in the Wesco South game. White hit an RBI single in the fifth inning. White then stole second base, and as the throw to second went into the outfield, she was able to score for Edmonds-Woodway.
