ESPN is coming to the Pacific Northwest for some Friday night lights.
The football game between Lake Stevens and Kamiak on Oct. 23 will be broadcast nationally on ESPN U, as part of the 2015 Geico ESPN High School Football Showcase.
The Lake Stevens-Kamiak Wesco 4A game, a key week 8 matchup, will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on ESPN U.
Lake Stevens went 7-0 in league last season but Kamiak gave the Knights their toughest test. The Vikings won 37-34 thanks to a big game by junior running back Andrew Grimes.
Grimes returns this season for Lake Stevens, as does quarterback Jacob Eason – the University of Georgia commit who is one of the top recruits in the country. Last season the Vikings made it to the opening round of the 4A state tournament.
Kamiak finished second in Wesco 4A before falling in a close 17-13 contest to Todd Beamer in a 4A quad-district playoff game.
