Kamiak state times

MUKILTEO – The Kamiak girls swim team placed first in 11 of 12 events and recorded five state-qualifying times en route to a 104-81 non-conference meet victory over Snohomish Thursday at Kamiak High School.

Rikka Brunner of Kamiak (2-0 overall) placed first in the 100-meter backstroke and first in the 50 freestyle, both in state-qualifying times. She set a school record of 25.16 seconds in the 50 freestyle. Brunner also contributed to two relay victories.

“Rikka’s a super swimmer, she’s our leader, our Ms. everything,” Kamiak coach Chris Erickson said.

Bekka Kaas-Lent also won two events for the Knights, the 200-individual medley and 100-breaststroke, and was part of two winning relay teams.

Lake Stevens 109, Shorecrest 77: Kelly Conrad won the 200-meter freestyle and had a state-qualifying time in the 100 freestyle to lead Lake Stevens to the non-conference victory.

Shorewood 117, Lake Stevens 69: LeAnne Dull won the 200-meter freestyle with a state-qualifying time of 1 minute, 58 seconds and finished second, also with a state-qualifying time, in the 100 freestyle to lead Shorewood to victory in the non-conference meet.

Cascade 136, Lynnwood 32: Andulyn Mullen and Britteny Thompson each won two events and swam on two winning relay teams to lead Cascade to a sweep of the non-league meet

Everett 109, Burlington-Edison 58: Martha Pohl placed first in the 100-meter breaststroke and swam on all three victorious relay teams as the Seagulls cruised in the non-conference meet.

At Mount Vernon

Everett 92, Sedro-Woolley 76: Bekah June’s victories in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle races keyed Everett’s triumph in the non-conference meet.

Meadowdale 115, Stanwood 68: Lisa Keane won the 200-meter individual medley and the 100 butterfly and was part of two winning relay teams to help Meadowdale to the non-conference victory.
