MILL CREEK – Kamiak’s Ashley Anderson won the Wesco 4A South singles championship Friday over Everett’s Jackie Mills.
Mills retired after Anderson won the first set 6-1. Mills received the division’s second seed to the Northwest District tournament.
In the third-place match, Alexander Platis of Jackson won a first-set tiebreaker and went on to defeat teammate Grace Bhak in straight sets. Bhak will face the fifth-place finisher in the Wesco North in a district play-in match.
Ashley Wagner and Joleen Laue of Edmonds-Woodway won the doubles championship over Blossom Cohon and Samantha Lim of Shorewood.
Farrah Ragsdale and Carolyn Oh of Jackson edged Katie Dutton and Thao Le of Everett for third place.
Wesco 3A South meet: Lynnwood’s Debbie Wong and Nhuchi Dao defeated teammates Sarah Tobin and Amanda Chomos, 7-5, 7-5 for the division’s second seed to the Northwest District tournament. Tobin and Chomos move on to a play-in match against the sixth-place team from the Northwest League.
Wesco North meet: Liz Currey of Stanwood captured third place in singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Chandi Sun of Cascade. Jessica Bell of Snohomish earned a spot in the district play-in match by finishing fifth with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Trina Anderson of Mount Vernon.
In doubles, the Snohomish team of E.B. Holderman and Elyse Harper topped Stanwood’s Andra Shaughnessy and Lauren Ayers 6-3, 7-6 for third place. Kailee Mallos and Sarah LeBar of Cascade captured the district play-in berth by beating teammates Andrea Woods and Angie Leon 6-4, 6-1 for fifth place.
