MONROE, Wash — Kim Lang finished building the new car a 6 p.m. and rushed to the track in time to win her first NASCAR Whelen All American Series Mini-Stock main in more than three years on Saturday, July 19 at Evergreen Speedway.

Rick Dietz won the NASCAR Pawn Exchange Figure-Eight main. The NASCAR Stinger Eight Main was won by point leader Mike Middleton. Rick Palmer made a late race pass to win the SVR Hornet main. Finishing the night in victory circle was the Crash-Car main winner Lance ‘Hammerhead’ O’Grain.

As she climbed from her winning car Lang was all smiles and a few tears were mixed in. At one time she built a 9-second lead over points leader Mark Weedin.

Weedin brought out a late caution when he went off the track in turn 1, which bunched the field behind Lang for a five-lap shoot out. Once again she was able to jump out to a comfortable lead on her way to the win.

Dietz waited until the last turn on the last lap to make a pass on Quinton Boreson to win the Super Figure Eight 35-lap main. Boreson led with three laps to go when he closed on lapped traffic. This traffic slowed him enough for Dietz to make the last turn pass.

Following up last week’s win Mike Middleton strengthened his point lead in the Stinger Eight division.

Saturday, July 19 at Monroe, Wash.
