Kimmel wins ARCA Southern Illinois 100, Malsam finishes 13th

DuQUOIN Ill. — Nine-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Frank Kimmel completed a sweep of the ARCA RE/MAX series Illinois fairgrounds dirt-track races with a victory Monday in the Southern Illinois 100 at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.

Mill Creek, Wash., driver Tayler Malsam finished 13th after starting 22nd.

Patrick Sheltra was second, Ken Schrader fniished third, Dexter Bean came in fourth and polesitter Rickey Stenhouse Jr. rounded out the top five.

Kimmel started on the front row outside of Stenhouse , who earned his career first SIM Factory Pole Award Monday morning by breaking a track record previously held by Brian Tyler.

Kimmel snapped a year-long winless streak with a big victory two weeks ago at the Illinois State Fairgrounds mile-dirt track.
