KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Bryce Kindopp scored two first-period goals, Michael Gut added one in the second and the Everett Silvertips hung on to beat the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 on Saturday evening at the Sandman Centre.
Kindopp’s first goal came on assists from Gut and Wyatte Wylie at 6:49 in the first. Kindopp added an unassisted goal at 14:12 as Everett took an early 2-0 lead.
Connor Zary cut the Silvertips’ lead in half with a goal on an assist from Sean Strange at 5:54 in the second period.
Everett responded when Gut scored what proved to be the game-winner at 8:17 in the second on assists from Kindopp and Gianni Fairbrother.
Caedan Bankier pulled the Blazers to within one with a goal at 14:39 in the second, but Kamloops never found the equalizer.
Dustin Wolf stopped 34 of 36 shots for the Silvertips (2-2-0-0).
Dylan Garand stopped 21 of 24 shots for Kamloops (3-4-0-0).
