MOUNTLAKE TERRACE – Allison Burk scored 21 points and Rachel Strand added 12 points as the King’s Knights defeated the Overlake Owls 68-31 Monday night during a Class A Tri-District semifinal game played at Mountlake Terrace High School.

The Knights, who already earned a state berth during last week’s tournament play, will meet the winner of today’s game between Forest Ridge-Coupeville for the tri-district championship on Saturday at 8 p.m. Overlake, which clinched one of the six state berths earlier in the tournament, will play the winner of Cascade Christian-Bush on Thursday at 8 p.m.

“Everyone on this team can shoot,” Burk said. “If we’re not making our 3s, then we will go to the post like we did tonight. It is one of our strengths.”

The Knights pulled away from the Owls in the first five minutes of the game. Burk scored eight consecutive points and Rachel Strand made a 3-point basket to lead King’s on a 11-0 run. Overlake, which shot 0-for-7 from the field during its five-minute shooting slump, was held to just nine first-quarter points.
