LYNNWOOD – Stifling defense and an early offensive punch helped the King’s Knights earn a 10th consecutive trip to the girls basketball state tournament.
The 20-1 Knights pummeled Seattle Christian 48-26 Friday night during the second round of the Class A Tri-District tournament played at Lynnwood High School.
The victory earned the Knights, whose only loss was to Heritage Park of British Columbia, an automatic berth to the state tournament.
The Knights will play Overlake at 8 p.m. on Monday at Mountlake High School in their next district game. Seattle Christian plays Archbishop Murphy Monday in a loser-out game beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School.
