King’s handles big league test

DUVALL – In a volleyball matchup that featured a contest between the top two teams in the Cascade Conference, King’s defeated Cedarcrest in three games, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19, Wednesday night.

The Knights (5-0 league, 6-0 overall) were led by Sara Mosiman’s 13 kills and two blocks. Melisa Uvence added 23 digs and two aces for Kings.

Shannon Rohr led the Wolves (5-1 , 6-2) with 10 kills and teammate Bethany Carlson contributed two aces and two kills for Cedarcrest.

South Whidbey 3, Sultan 0: At Langley, junior Marie Enell led the Falcons (4-2 league, 9-6 overall) to the Cascade Conference victory, 25-11, 25-7, 25-13, with nine aces and four kills. Jessi Eaton contributed 23 assists for South Whidbey. Sultan falls to 0-6, 0-7.

Granite Falls 3, Lakewood 0: At Lakewood, freshman Michaela Dudder led Granite Falls (1-4 league, 1-7 overall) with 13 kills in the Tigers’ 25-20, 25-22, 25-10 Cascade Conference victory. Chrissy Phillips led Lakewood (1-5, 1-7) with five kills.

Tennis

Stanwood 4, Lake Stevens 3: Stanwood’s Daniel Redfern led the sweep of singles play by defeating Ryan Arndt 6-2, 6-0 in No.1 singles on the way to the Wesco North victory. Trynton Vargas and Sean McClurken led the Vikings in their sweep of the doubles, defeating Craig Miller and Chad Jerde 6-1, 6-2 in No.1 doubles .

At Lake Stevens

Cascade 7, Oak Harbor 0: Clayton Shaw led the Bruins to the Wesco North victory by defeating Chad Evans 6-0, 6-3 in No. singles. Evan Bovard and Dillon Bemis kept things rolling for Cascade by defeating Tyler Rico and Michael Caulfield 6-0, 6-0 in No.1 doubles play.

At Oak Harbor

Snohomish 6, Marysville-Pilchuck 1: Kellen Reimers and Andy Bell helped keep Snohomish undefeated by beating Justin Rumsey and Eric Wike 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in No.1 doubles. Ryan Bailey the Tomahawks’ lone victory, defeating Chad Merkley 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 in No. 3 singles.

At Marysville
