SHORELINE – The King’s Knights volleyball team finished the regular season with a bang, sweeping away the Lakewood Cougars 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 in Cascade Conference action Wednesday night at King’s High School.
King’s (11-1 in league, 12-1 overall) had already clinched the conference’s top Class 2A seed into the district playoffs and will share the Cascade Conference title with Class 3A Cedarcrest (11-1, 13-1).
Senior outside hitter Sara Mosiman led the way for King’s with 13 kills, Jamie Hartman added 13 digs and Kailey Trautmann and Kimberly Mayhle contributed six kills apiece.
King’s hosts a first-round 2A district match against Whatcom County League’s No. 4 seed Nooksack Valley (4-10) at 5 p.m. next Wednesday. Seniors Jessica Boe (10 assists, four digs) and Laurel Hansen (four kills) led Lakewood, which ended its season at 1-11, 2-13.
