I filled in for my co-worker Nick Patterson and covered the AquaSox on Thursday.
Before the game started, public-address announcer Tom Lafferty gave me a copy of KRKO Fox Sports 1380 AM’s 2010 high school football broadcast schedule (see attached PDF to the right under “ADDITIONAL ITEMS”). The season opener is Lake Stevens versus Cascade at Everett Memorial Stadium on Sept. 3. Kickoff is 5 p.m.
KRKO will feature three Lake Stevens games (Sept. 3 at Cascade, Sept. 10 at Kamiak, Sept. 24 at Snohomish) in the first four weeks of the season. The Vikings’ Oct. 22 home game against Stanwood is also scheduled to be on the 1380 AM airwaves.
One non-league game that immediately caught my attention was the Oct. 15 Skyline at Jackson contest. Led by star receiver Kasen Williams, Skyline is ranked No. 49 in the nation in the ESPN RISE preseason football rankings.
