Kyle Lewis homers, AquaSox topple Canadians

The former AL Rookie of the Year hits a two-run blast in Everett’s 7-4 win.

EVERETT — Continuing his rehab assignment for the Seattle Mariners, Kyle Lewis hit a two-run home run, James Parker added a two-run shot and the Everett AquaSox earned a 7-4 win over the Vancouver Canadians on Thursday night at Funko Field.

Lewis started at designated hitter and finished 1-for-3, including a blast to center field in the bottom of the fifth inning that scored Noelvi Marte and gave the AquaSox a 3-2 lead.

Marysville Pilchuck alum Trent Tingelstad went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in, and Parker, Dariel Gomez and Myles Miller each had two hits for Everett (38-39).

Logan Rinehart started on the mound for the AquaSox and struck out six in three scoreless, hitless innings. Rinehart, Michael Flynn, Peyton Alford, Jarod Bayless and Tim Elliott combined to strike out 16 batters in the game.

Steward Berroa homered and Zach Britton and Damiano Palmegiani each had two hits for Vancouver (36-38).
