Where to begin?

Whatever type of racing you’re interested in, this weekend has it. My fingers are numb from posting all the previews, stats, etc. Take a look at both the National and Local Racing sections on The Herald’s auto racing page.

Some highlights:

The World of Outlaws, the top sprint car drivers in the world, will be making their annual swing through the Pacific Northwest, including stopping at Skagit Speedway on Friday and Saturday. For more details CLICK HERE.

Note: Enumclaw native, NASCAR star and World of Outlaws team owner Kasey Kahne is expected to pay a visit to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., on Monday, Sept. 1. For more details CLICK HERE.

Evergreen Speedway has NASCAR Night scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30. Weather permitting the Super Stocks will run a doubleheader, and the Bombers, Mini-Stocks and Stinger Eights are also scheduled to race.

Both the ASA Northwest Tour and ARCA West Late Model Challenge Series are slated to race this weekend in Yakima. A preview of the Northwest Tour race can be found HERE and a preview of the LMCS race is HERE.

Note: Snohomish, Wash., native Kevin Hamlin will be making his season debut in Saturday’s Nationwide Series race. Hamlin will be driving the No. 81 Mahindra Tractors Dodge for MacDonald Motorsports.

The NHRA, which is also just one event away from its Countdown to 1 playoff, will be in Indianapolis for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. For a preview, CLICK HERE and for Countdown clinch scenarios, CLICK HERE.

Mill Creek driver Tayler Malsam will once again find himself racing a stock car on dirt when the ARCA RE/MAX Series hits the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds for the Southern Illinois 100 on Monday, Sept. 1.

Last but not least, IndyCar heads to Michigan for the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix with points leader Scott Dixon trying to wrap up his 2nd title. For more on that, CLICK HERE.
