Lake Stevens senior scores program’s first hat trick in 11 years

Senior forward Rubin Duchesne posted the Lake Stevens boys soccer team’s first hat trick in 11 years, scoring three goals inthe Vikings’ 4-1 win over Mariner on April 2.

Duchesne has contributed to a breakthrough start for Lake Stevens (7-2-0), which already has eclipsed its win total from the previous two seasons combined.

“The team has been building the past couple of years and is now starting to realize some of its potential, and Rubin is aperfect example of that,” Vikings coach Wes VanHooser said.

“He is a big, strong kid, and wins a lot of balls in the air and works as hard as anyone on the field. The whole team wasreally proud of his performance against Mariner.”
