Cassie Osborn of Lake Stevens has been judged second-best in the nation for her soccer shooting skills.

Osborn first won the Everett Elks Lodge girls U-14 Soccer Shoot, a skills competition involving kicking a soccer ball at a roped-divided goal. The roped areas were worth different points.

Cassie advanced to and won regionals, competing against players her age from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. Her regional score then was forwarded to a panel of national judges who compared it with those of the seven other regional winners. The judges determined Osborn’s score was second-best in the nation.

She will be presented with a plaque at the Elks’ seafood buffet on March 8.
