LOS ANGELES — Kobe Bryant has a torn right rotator cuff, the Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday.
Bryant injured his right shoulder in the second half of the Lakers’ loss at New Orleans on Wednesday night. An MRI exam in San Antonio revealed the tear, the club said. Team officials declined to give a prognosis for Bryant until he could be re-evaluated in Los Angeles on Friday
Bryant briefly returned to the game and played essentially with one arm after the injury. He is a right-handed shooter.
Bryant has sat out several games to rest this season, with coach Byron Scott attempting to preserve his 36-year-old superstar.
