BELLINGHAM – In a loser out Class 3A Northwest District playoff showdown, the Arlington Eagles shut out the Bellingham Raiders 2-0 Tuesday night at Bellingham’s Civic Field Stadium.
With 25 minutes to go in the first half, Kaily Erickson opened the scoring for Arlington with a goal assisted by Mahleace Tomsin. Tomsin then scored a goal with 21:50 remaining in the half on a free kick.
The rest of the game was scoreless, and goalkeeper Carley Lamb’s efficiency was one of the factors in the Eagless win.
“It feels great,” defense Shauna Corte said. “If we keep on playing as a team, I think we are going to go all the way.”
Arlington next plays against Wesco 3A rival Jackson, which defeated Ferndale 3-1 Tuesday.
“We got to be physical and intense for the next game,” Arlington Coach Nathan Davis said. “We have a little ways to go.”
