EUGENE, Ore. — Jack Larsen doubled twice and drove in four runs, Matt Brash struck out 11 hitters in five-plus innings and the Everett AquaSox beat the Eugene Emeralds 10-2 on Wednesday night in a matchup of the top two teams in the High-A West.
Larsen was one of four AquaSox batters with multiple hits in the game. Zach DeLoach had three hits, and Carter Bins and Kaden Polcovich each had a pair. Bins and Polcovich also drove in two runs each.
Brash continued his stellar campaign in his first full season in the Seattle Mariners organization since being acquired in a trade with the San Diego Padres in 2020. The 23-year-old right-hander allowed two runs on five hits in 5.2 innings and now has a 2.55 earned-run average on the season. Igor Januario, Kyle Hill and Dayeison Arias combined to toss 3.1 hitless innings of relief for Everett (35-19), which took a 1.5-game lead over the Emeralds in the division standings.
Sean Roby homered and Ricardo Genoves doubled and drove in a run for Eugene (34-21).
